“If You Want to Learn About Jesus”

Hello, I’m Doug Apple…with Apples of Gold.

If you want to learn about Jesus, yes, read the four Gospels:  Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

But there is another book that is loaded with information about Jesus, and that’s the book of Hebrews.

And now let me share with you everything I learned about Jesus from the book of Hebrews (the New King James Version).

Jesus is the Son of God. (4:14)

He is the express image of God’s person.  (1:3)

Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory.  (1:3)

God made the worlds through Jesus.  (1:2)

Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power.  (1:3)

God appointed Jesus heir of all things.  (1:2)

God has spoken to us by His Son.  (1:2)

Jesus became flesh and blood. (2:10)

He came to do the will of God. (10:9)

He arose from the tribe of Judah. (7:14)

He suffered when he was tempted. (2:18)

Jesus was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. (4:15)

Jesus loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. (1:9)

Jesus is holy, harmless, undefiled and separate from sinners. (7:26)

He endured hostility from sinners. (12:3)

He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. (5:8)

Jesus was made perfect through sufferings. (2:10)

In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to God. (5:7)

Jesus is the Mediator of the new covenant. (9:15, 12:24)

He is Mediator of a better covenant, an eternal covenant, established on better promises. (8:6, 13:20)

Jesus became a surety of a better covenant. (7:22)

Jesus offered up Himself once for all for the sins of the people. (7:27)

He endured the cross, despising the shame. (12:2)

He tasted death for everyone. (2:9)

Jesus died to destroy the devil. (2:14)

Through the eternal Spirit, Jesus offered Himself without spot to God. (9:14)

Jesus entered heaven itself, to appear in the presence of God for us. (9:24)

With His own blood Jesus entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (9:12)

Jesus sanctified the people by His own blood. (13:12)

He made propitiation for the sins of the people. (2:17)

He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (9:26)

By the will of God, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (10:10)

Jesus was offered once to bear the sins of many. (9:28)

He offered one sacrifice for sins forever. (10:12)

Jesus purged our sins. (1:3)

By one offering Jesus has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. (10:14)

The blood of Christ cleanses our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (9:14)

Jesus became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. (5:9)

Jesus is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (7:25)

Jesus was called by God as High Priest. (5:10)

He is a merciful and faithful high priest. (2:17)

He is a high priest who can sympathize with our weaknesses. (4:15)

Jesus is the apostle and high priest of our confession. (3:1)

He is a High Priest who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. (8:1)

He has an unchangeable priesthood. (7:24)

He is High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (6:20)

Jesus is a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected. (8:2)

God brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead. (13:20)

Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (1:3)

He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (12:2)

He was crowned with glory and honor. (2:7)

Jesus has been perfected forever. (7:28)

His throne is forever and ever. (1:8)

All things are in subjection under the feet of Jesus. (2:8)

He sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. (10:12-13)

He is worthy of more glory than Moses. (3:3)

He has a more excellent name than the angels. (1:4)

He is higher than the heavens. (7:26)

Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep. (13:20)

He is the author and finisher of our faith. (12:2)

To those who eagerly wait for Him, Jesus will appear a second time. (9:28)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (13:8)

Yes, that’s a lot of information about Jesus.  And that’s why I say, if you want to learn about Jesus, make sure you read through the book of Hebrews.

Why “The Arrow’s Tip”?  Each morning, after diligently seeking the Lord, I write Apples of Gold.  Then before I release it to the public I pray one final prayer, “Lord, send forth your arrows.”  I envision Apples of Gold as arrows, tips dipped in the river of the water of life that flows from the throne of God (Rev. 22:1), sailing toward the hearts and minds of men and women around the world.
